ACSSW is now an official Division of the American Counseling Association (ACA). To join, call the ACA Member Services Center at 1-800-298-2276 (Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. ET). Current ACA members can add ACSSW as a division membership. Non-ACA members can join ACSSW on or after July 1, 2025. Visit our Membership page for complete details and pricing.
Division dues are: Professional/Regular: $50, New Professional (years 1-2): $45, and Student/Retired: $40. Members receive reduced costs for events, access to webinar archives, networking opportunities, and more. See our Membership page for full benefits.
ACSSW provides monthly webinars with continuing education credits for members in partnership with The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Members receive reduced registration fees and access to our video archive. Visit our Events page to see upcoming sessions and register.
The Journal of Counseling Sexology & Sexual Wellness (JCSSW) publishes peer-reviewed research advancing the field of counseling sexology. Visit our Journal page for submission guidelines, formatting requirements, and information about the editorial review process. We welcome original research, theoretical papers, and case studies.
We welcome member participation in our committees! ACSSW has committees focused on BIPOC initiatives, Education & Training, Social Justice & Advocacy, Research & Scholarship, and Promotion & Membership. ACSSW is an official Division of the American Counseling Association (ACA). This status enhances our visibility, credibility, and influence within the counseling profession and allows us to better advance our mission of recognizing sexuality as a central aspect of the human experience. ACSSW is currently developing a certification track for sexuality competencies for counselors, estimated to launch in 2026. This certification will provide specialized training and credentials for counselors working with sexuality-related issues. Members will receive priority access and reduced costs when the program launches. Stay tuned for updates!
